Street Minding

31st March 2008 -Street minding progress update:

The street minding strategy has begun and I'm happy to be leading it, I realize that this may take some time as it is going to require people's time, patience and commitment. Everyone that I have spoken to about the program is saying that it's a good idea and so forth but is slow in coming forward in providing some input towards the strategy. The initial buyin from the residents has to be secured in order to progress forward to the next set of actions. We will be looking to developing a handbook to guide you through a ‘step by step' process in setting up a street minding program, this could very well turn out to being a blueprint for the City and replicated throughout the country. We have decided that 3 streets will participate in the pilot, Rukumoana place being the first and the other two are still to be identified.

Report back;
