Hip Hop Summit - 18th April 2008

Kiaora tatou, greetings to you all

This is a big thankyou to all who participated in the YAHH REWAHARD YOUTH EVENT last Friday 18th 2008, thanks to Manurewa Marae for hosting the event, to all for spreading the kaupapa, cookin toasties, handing out flyers, txting, bebo'ing your friends, picking up rubbish, help to tidy up the marae, put up the grafitti panels, donated prizes & giveaways, became security, smiled at parents and came down to watch the Rangatahi.....our event was a great success!

The Youth of Manurewa had a safe time and enjoyed it thoroughly! I may I add we had all sorts of people there, ll cultures, mums n dads, volunteers all there to support the original vision of "Healing Our Spirit". We had 200+ young people getting down to their fave sounds, backed up a yummy food stall manned by the local police - too much Neil, Malesala, Kim & co. Te Taitonga Kapahaka group provided security outside and also kept an eye on the downstairs toilets. No tagging was seen apart from the dazzling art display I had inside the hall -thanks to the Disruptiv Team. Karla and Counites Manukau Sports gave away heaps of prizes to the best dancers, thankyou Back2Basics Magazines were snapped up as were all the CD Prizes thanks to MTC Records DJ Funky & myself jammed all the latest songs and tried to keep our peeps Krumping and occupied Mack from Te Karere was there filming the whole nite enough for a doco I think! all and all an awesome event!

Lets hope our young people take some pride in their home of Manurewa and begin to look after its community, remember you dont have to be Hard to be Rewa hard!. If I have left you out you know who you are!

lest we not forget Krishna Naidu and Pihema Clifford Cameron.
