Brian Emery - Co-opted Trustee in April 2008

With a masters of business administration, he soon joined the executive management group where he became group manager Maori health. For six years, he was a team leader with Quality Health NZ for accreditations and certifications of health providers including district health boards. He was also an auditor for two other designated auditing agencies.

These roles help Brian in his current role as quality and risk manager at Te Roopu Taurima o Manukau with other responsibilities in knowledge systems. Brian sees risks as an integral part of business and expects any organisation to identify risks and to control and manage them. Continuous improvements impress Brian whether the improvements are in processes, policies, planning or relationships building.

Brian also has the roles and responsibilities of complaints officer and privacy officer. He chairs the quality and risk management committee and is an ex officio member of the osh committees, infection control committee and restraint minimisation committee.

In April 2008, Brian was co-opted on to the Manurewa Marae Board of trustees. He brings to the table years of experience in governance and management. Brian is an asset to the board, and brings diverse and exceptional business acumen and strategic vision for the Marae.
