Manurewa Marae

The Puhinui inlet which is situated behind the Manurewa Marae, could be a high quality recreational, cultural and ecological precinct which would be a jewel for our community. With the help of your family and the community of Manurewa we would like to seek your support to have the mangroves behind the Manurewa Marae removed, in order for the community to be able to utilize the foreshore for water sports, such as kayaking, waka ama, waka taua and fishing. We would also like to establish a clubroom, jetty and a wharewaka to house our waka.

We would now like to gather more feedback from our local community on how they feel about this project, and if they would support us to have the mangroves removed, so we can utilize the foreshore. We would like you to complete the Manurewa Marae Response form, and return it back to us asap, so we have evidence of the support from the Manurewa Community.
